If you encounter the error -  "Error while updating JRE due to insufficient permission or JRE is in use" while applying the patch then you need to update jre folder manually. 

Steps to update JRE folder manually: 

1. Go to the folder where Adeptia Suite is installed. 
2. Rename the existing jre folder as jre_1_7.
3. Download the patch for the operating system (Windows or Linux) on which you are updating. 
4. Extract the patch.
5. Open the folder and copy jre folder (jre_win or jre_linux). 
6. Paste the copied jre folder (jre_win or jre_linux) in the current Adeptia Suite environment.
7. Rename the folder (jre_win or jre_linux) to jre.
8. Restart the Kernel and WebRunner.
