Exporting the objects - Windows

This section assists you in exporting Adeptia Connect objects available on a Windows based operating system.

To export the objects, you need to run the migration utility on your ACE v3.5 Windows environment as instructed below. Before you start the migration utility, make sure that you have met the pre-requisites for migration.

The export of the objects in discussion here is a part of Offline Migration.

  • Offline Migration migrates objects from the currently installed version to a new upgraded version. This process also allows you to back up all the objects and configuration files from the current installation and restore them whenever required.
  • Offline Migration is used for migrating objects when the source and target databases are not connected at the same time.
  • You can use the Migration to insert objects from the source database to the target database. However, you cannot update the objects in the target database.

Warning

If you're on a lower version of the application, you first need to upgrade to AC v3.5 and thereafter apply its latest patch to come to its most recent version.

Steps to export the objects:

  1. Go to the location where Adeptia Connect is installed, for example, C:\Program Files\AdeptiaConnect\AdeptiaConnect-<version>.
  2. Open the bin folder.
  3. Double-click MigrationUtility.exe to run the Migration Utility Wizard.

  4. Click Next.

  5. Select Adeptia Connect, and then click Next.

  6. Select Migration, and then click Next

  7. Select Export/Backup without Logs and click Next.

Selecting Export/Backup Without Logs allows you to export all source database objects and configuration files without logs.

  8. Select an option based on your requirement, and then click Next.

    Important

If you select Export/Backup With Quartz Tables option, all the objects and services including Transactions/Templates with their current status will be exported.

  9. Browse to and select the directory where Connect Server is installed, for example, C:\Program Files\AdeptiaConnect\AdeptiaConnect-<version>\ConnectServer, and then click Next

  10. Browse to and select the target location where you want to save the exported zip file, and then click Next.

    Important

Ensure that you have the same file name with .zip extension at target location.

  11. Select No to exclude the optional files.

KernelApplication.log and WebrunnerApplication.log are the optional files.

The utility starts exporting the objects. If it is successful, a message stating "Backup created successfully" is displayed on the Log Details window, and the zip file is created. In case of failure, it displays an error message and rolls back the entire operation.

  12. Click Save Logs, and then select the location where you want to save the logs.
  13. Click Finish to exit the Migration Utility.

Once you have created the zip file containing the exported objects, you can use it to restore the objects to the new environment.
