You can deploy objects (Transactions and Templates) in Adeptia Connect, using Migration utility. You must have an exported zip file to deploy. To deploy objects, run the Migration utility and select Connect 2.0.

To deploy objects:

  1. Select Deploy to deploy the objects.



  2. Click Next to select the source location.
  3. Browse to and select the exported zip file.



  4. Click Next to select the target location.
  5. Browse to and select the Adeptia Suite location (till Adeptia Server) on which the zip is to be deployed, for example, C:\Program Files\AdeptiaSuite\AdeptiaSuite-<version>\AdeptiaServer.



  6. Click Next to retain objects. Skip this step if you don't want to retain objects in the target environment.
  7. Browse to and select the XML file if you already have else click Generate Retain XML to create XML file to retain objects. 
     


    1. The Generate Retain List window appears listing the Transactions or Templates, as per the source zip. All the Adeptia Connect and Adeptia Suite services are displayed.
    2. Select either a service or field(s) of a service to retain at the target environment. If you select a service then you can't further select field(s) of that service.
    3. Click Generate Retain XML.



    4. A dialog box appears to save the XML file. Provide the file name in the text box and click Save
      This will return to the below image.



    5. Browse to and select the XML file you created. 
  8. Click Next to select the user ownership. The list of all IT Users of the target environment appears.
  9. Select a user to give ownership of the migrated objects. If you select a user, all the migrated objects will be assigned to the user. In case you don't select, all the users with migrated objects from the source environment will move to the target environment.



  10. Click Next to start deploying. A dialog box "Deployment of selected objects completed successfully" appears confirming objects has been deployed successfully.

    During migration, if the user exists with the same name and different user ids at both the source and the target environment then objects will not be migrated if:

    • both group and group type of the user mismatches.

    • only group type of the user mismatch.

    • only group of the user mismatch. 

  11. Click OK.
  12. Click Finish to exit the Migration utility.
