You can use the Migration process to migrate objects from the currently installed version to a new upgraded version. This process also allows you to take a backup of all objects and configuration files from the current installation and restore them whenever required.  For instance, you can use Migration option to transfer the data while upgrading from your current version to the new version.

You can use the Migration process to insert objects from the source database to the target database. However, you cannot update the objects in the target database.

Ensure that you have run the Migration Utility.

Steps to migrate objects using Migration

  1. Type 2 for Migration.

     

  2. Type the migration action.

    Description

    Export/Backup Without Logs

    Creates a zip file containing all source database objects and configuration files without logs.

    Export/Backup with Logs

    Creates a zip file containing all source database objects and configuration files with logs.

    Import/Restore

    Imports all source database objects and configuration files from the zip file to the target environment.
