The layout information can be saved in a PDF file for the documentation purpose. It contains all the information related to a layout in tabular format. You can also get the layout details like Name, ID, Description, etc.
You can create the PDF for the following layouts:
Advanced Database
Advanced Positional
Advanced Text
Database
Excel
Positional
Text
The first page of the PDF contains the Layout Name, Layout Description, Creation Date, Last Modified By, Last Modified On, Created By, Group Owner and all other fields. The PDF also contains the metadata fields divided into two categories, simple hierarchy and complex hierarchy.
For simple hierarchy the following fields are available in PDF:

For complex hierarchy the following fields are available in PDF:
Record Identifier
Order
Field Name
Description
Field Type
Date Format
Time Format
Start Position
End Position
Length
Align

The simple hierarchy and complex hierarchy information is available in the PDF only for those layouts which contain the metadata fields.
Generating PDF of a layout
On the Layout page, click More menu and select View PDF option to generate the PDF.
The PDF will be generated and saved in the designated folder given in the browser settings.
