You can use Developer's Studio Process Flow (running at the background of Adeptia Connect) and other Transactions (whose Source application is Pre Process) while creating a Template. Use Pre Process application at Source and Post Process application at Target while defining the Template. In the following scenarios, Pre Process and Post Process applications can be used:

Using a Process Flow in a Template

To use Developers Studio Process Flow in a Template, you need to

  1. First create a Process Flow in the Developers Studio. 
  2. After creating a Process Flow, in Adeptia Connect, go to Account > Manage Objects > Services > Process Flow.   
  3. On the Process Flow screen, click  to the Process Flow to publish it. The state changes to  indicates published Process Flow. 
  4. Go to Configure > Templates > Create Template to create a Template. The following are the high-level steps that you need to select while creating a Template. For detailed instructions, click /wiki/spaces/AC2/pages/655640.
  5. Select either file or App from the Template Type drop-down list.
  6. Select Inbound in the Select direction drop-down list. 
  7. Select Pre Process app while defining the Source application.



  8. Define the source data format and layout for a Template.
  9. Define the source layout and format of a Template.
  10. Select Post Process app while defining the Target application.



  11. Select Process Flow from the Select Process Type drop-down list.
  12. Select the process flow that you have published in Step 3 earlier. Only published process flow will appear in the drop-down list.



  13. Define the target data format and layout.
  14. Define the mapping between the fields.
  15. Click Save and exit to save the Template.

Using a Transaction in a Template

To use a Transaction in a Template, you need to

  1. First create a Template using Pre Process as a Source application. The following are the high-level steps that you need to select while creating a Template. For detailed instructions, click /wiki/spaces/AC2/pages/655640.
    1. Click Configure > Templates > Create Template.
    2. Select either file or App from the Template Type drop-down list.
    3. Select Inbound in the Select direction drop-down list. 
    4. Select Pre Process app while defining the Source application.
    5. Define the source data format and layout for a Template.
    6. Define the source layout and format of a Template.
    7. Select the Target application, for example, FTP.
    8. Define the action to be taken at the destination.
    9. Define the target application account and configuration details.
    10. Define the data encryption for the target file.
    11. Click Save and Exit to save the Template.
  2. After creating a Template, create a Transaction using this Template.
  3. Now, create a Template using Post Process as a Target application. The following are the high-level steps that you need to select while creating a Template. For detailed instructions, click /wiki/spaces/AC2/pages/655640
      1. Click Configure > Templates > Create Template.
      2. Select either File or App from the Template Type drop-down list.
      3. Select Inbound in the Select direction drop-down list. 
      4. Select the Source application, for example, QuickBooks.
      5. Define the source data format for a Template.
      6. Select the event to be triggered.
      7. Select Post Process app while defining the Target application.



      8. Select Transaction from the Select Process Type drop-down list.
      9. Select the Pre Process Transaction that you have created in Step 2 earlier. Only Pre Process transactions will appear in the drop-down list.



      10. Define the target data format and layout.
      11. Define the mapping between the fields.
      12. Click Save and exit to save the Template.
