After you have selected the Source application, the next step in creating a Template is to define the Target application. A Target Application is an application from where data is to be transferred from the Source application. After defining the Target application, you must choose an Action.

An Action is a chosen event that will be performed on the data exchange. For example, in an FTP Target application, if you choose Create File as a trigger, then data exchange will initiate when the new file is created to the target FTP.

To select and configure the Target application of the Template:

  1. Select the Target application and click Next.

The applications will populate in the drop-down list based on the options selected in the /wiki/spaces/AC2/pages/659860 while defining the Template.

You can also use a Process Flow or Transaction in a Template. For this, you need to select Post Process application. For more information, click here.

  2. Select the action and click Next.

Depending upon the selected Target application, the list of actions differ. For the complete list of actions of the supported applications, refer to Appendix D: Supported Applications.

  3. Define the Target application account details. For more information on how to add an account, refer to Appendix D: Supported Applications.

You can also test the connection of your account. Click Test to test the connection.
  4. Click Next to define the configuration details.

  5. Provide the configuration details of the selected Source application.

The Target application account and configuration details screen differ based on the Target application selected in a Template.
  6. Click Next to select the target data format. This screen is applicable only for file-based applications.
  7. Select the target data format and data layout for the Target application. Target data format is the format in which you want the target file, for example, text, excel. Target data layout is the layout of the target file. You can either use the existing layout or create a new layout. To create a new layout, click . For more information, refer to Appendix A: File Layouts.

  8. Click Next to define whether you want to encrypt the target file. This screen appears only for file-based applications.

  9. Select the Want to encrypt target file? check box. Provide the details of the Key in the drop-down lists.
