SAP IDoc definition files can be created by selecting an IDoc from an existing IDoc list from SAP (online definition mode) or can be uploaded to Adeptia Connect (offline definition mode). Adeptia SAP Integration service uses these layouts to generate and validate IDocs in inbound and outbound processes.

Creating IDoc Layout using Online Definition mode

Follow the steps below to create IDoc layout using the online IDoc definition mode:

  1. Click Configure > LAYOUTS > IDoc.
  2. Click Create IDoc Layout.
  3. In the Create IDoc Schema window,


     
    1. In the Name and Description fields, type the name and description of the new IDoc layout respectively.
    2. In the IDoc Definition field, select Online
    3. In the SAP Client field, select the SAP client. 

      You can check the connection with the client by clicking Test.
    4. In the System Release field, enter the System release number.

      This field is prefilled with a system release number. However, you can change the value if you want to access specific system/application released layout.
    5. In the Application Release field, enter the Application release number.

      This field is prefilled with an application release number. However, you can change the value if you want to access specific system/application released layout.
    6. In the IDoc field, select the type of IDoc, Basic or Extension. 

    7. In the IDoc Type field, select the IDoc type.

      The generated IDoc layout list is based on the system release and application release values. This option is applicable only for Basic IDoc type. 
    8. In the IDoc Extension field, select the IDoc extension.

      The generated IDoc layout list is based on the system release and application release values. This option is applicable only for Extension IDoc type. 
    9. In the Character Set Encoding field, enter the value for character set encoding. 

    10. In the Select Project field, select the project.

  4. Click Save.

Creating IDoc Layout using Offline Definition mode

Follow the steps below to create an IDoc layout using offline IDoc definition mode.

  1. Click Configure > LAYOUTS > IDoc.
  2. Click Create IDoc Layout.
  3. In the Create IDoc Schema window,

    1. In the Name and Description fields, type the name and description of the new IDoc layout respectively.
    2. In the IDoc Definition field, select Offline.
    3. In the IDoc Definition File field, click Browse, navigate to and select the IDoc definition file, and click Open to upload.
    4. In the Character Set Encoding field, enter the value for character set encoding. 
    5. In the Select Project field, select the project.
  4. Click Save.
