Before you start using Performance Management Best Practices guide, ensure that you have a clear understanding of performance, throughput, and capacity goals that you want to target. For example following is the list of parameters that you should know beforehand: 

Data Volumes

  • Number of sources, targets, and databases 
  • Number of files per day and per week and per month
  • Number during peak hour
  • Types of input and output files or databases
  • Average and Max size of files or data sets
  • File processing SLA’s such as response times, acknowledgement time

Real-time Transactions

  • Number of published APIs/Web Services
  • Number of concurrent calls and number of calls during peak hour
  • SLAs and Response time
  • Number of applications or APIs connected to

Events

  • Number and type of events
  • Number of polling or listener events

Users

  • Number of Developers, Internal operational users, and External partner users
  • Expected number of partner entities
  • Ability to support the number many concurrent users: 10, 50, 100, or 500
  • No labels
