Migration utility enables you to seamlessly migrate objects (Transactions and Templates) from one environment of Adeptia Connect to another. For example, you can migrate objects created in the Development environment to the Production environment and vice-versa by using Migration utility.

Need for Migration

At times while working with Adeptia Connect, you may come across a situation, where you need to transfer the objects across multiple environments, such as change the object in the Development environment, test it in the QA environment and finally apply the changes in the Production environment. Alternately, when an upgrade of Adeptia Connect is released, you need to migrate all the data from the earlier version to the upgraded version. This can be quite a cumbersome process.

Migrating Objects

Run the utility to migrate objects. When you run the utility, the system creates a log file at the location where the utility is stored.

Prerequisites

  • Ensure that you have objects created in Adeptia Connect.

All the objects migrated to the target environment will be in the deactivated state irrespective of the state at the source environment.

All the Networks, used in the Templates, will be created automatically at the target environment.

To migrate objects:

  1. Go to the location where Adeptia Suite is installed, for example, C:\Program Files\AdeptiaSuite\AdeptiaSuite-<version>.
  2. Open the bin folder.
  3. Double-click MigrationUtility.exe to run the Migration utility.

  4. Click Next.
  5. Select Connect 2.0.

  6. Click Next to start the migration of Adeptia Connect.
  7. Select the migration action and click Next to proceed further.
