You may come across a requirement for removing the mapping between the elements of a source and destination layout either in existing mapping or while you are creating a new one. In Adeptia Connect, you can remove the mapping between the elements from either the source or the destination layout. Whereas, you can remove mapping as well as use other options like For Each, Comments, Sorting Rules, and Local Variable at the destination element, you can only remove mapping from the source layout elements.

This page contains the following information:

Removing mapping from destination element

  1. Ensure that all the source and destination layout are loaded and all their elements are listed under their respective nodes.
  2. On the destination panel, click More on the top-right corner.
    Screenshot to be changed
  3. Click Remove Selected Mappings.
A checkbox appears next to each field.
  4. Select the checkbox against the fields whose mapping you want to remove.
  5. Click Remove Mappings.
A Remove Options screen is displayed. This screen displays a list of properties and variables associated with the selected element that can be removed with the mapping. How is this (marked in red) being handled, as the selected fields are multiple?

Only the Remove Mapping is displayed as always enabled. The other options are enabled only if they have been defined for the particular element.
  6. Select the Remove Mapping check box.

  7. Click Remove.
The mapping associated with the selected fields will be removed.

Click Select All from Remove Options screen if you want to remove all the other options associated with the selected particular fields, and then click Remove

Removing mapping from source element

The Remove Mapping option for a source element is especially helpful when that element is mapped with multiple destination elements and you want to remove all the mappings in one go.

This option removes only one to one mapping between elements.

Follow the steps below to remove the mapping from a source element:

  1. Ensure that all the source and destination layout are loaded and all their elements are listed under their respective nodes.
  2. Select an element of the source layout whose mapping you want to remove and click More option and then select the Remove Mapping option.
A message window appears asking for your confirmation.
  3. Click Yes to remove the mapping.
The mapping associated with the particular element will be removed.
