While creating or using Adeptia Connect services, you may have the requirement want to change the system application properties to let the services perform and achieve the desired business transactionsoutput. If you are an admin user, Adeptia Connect gives you the authority to view the system configuration for the application configuration for troubleshooting purposes and also allows you to update the system properties. application properties. 

Tip
Only the users of Sys Admin type can edit the property values . The other users can only view them.

The application configuration module allows you to configure properties that govern application and security settings. 

The application configuration module displays the Adeptia Connect related information such as Java Classpath, Database Informationmail parameters, Version Control configuration, Session Time Out, and Process Flow Recovery Settings, etc. System configurations are non-editable and can be viewed only by the Admin for troubleshooting purposes. 

Follow the steps below to view the system application configuration:

  1. Click Accounts Account > Settings.
  2. Expand the Server Node Settings Application Settings, Microservice Settings, or Custom in the left panel according to your need.
  3. Select the server noderequired option. For example, Common, Runtime, WebRunner, Event, Portal.
  4. Expand the property category to view the properties associated with it.

Updating

The System values for properties can be updated to change the properties of the Adeptia Connectmake the application work as per your requirement. For example, you can change the mail server settings, and enable or disable clustering and database settings transaction recovery, etc.

Only the users of Admin and

You cannot delete or edit the predefined properties, but you can view them. The users of Sys Admin type can only update the system propertiesproperty values.

Follow the steps below to update the system the application properties:

  1. Click Accounts Account > Settings.
  2. To update the application properties, 
    1. Expand the 
    Server Node Settings in
    1. Application Settings in the left panel.
    2. Select the
    server node.
  3. Click Edit.
  4. Click Image Removed to expand the required property.
  5. Edit the required property.
  6. Click Save.
  7. To reload the configuration, click Reload Configuration link.
    A confirmation message is displayed that the configuration has been reloaded.
  8. Restart the Connect Server.

Tip

If you do not want to reload the configuration changes right away, you can reload it later on. To know how to reload the configuration later on, refer the Reloading System Configuration section.

  • Changes made in the System Properties do not come into effect until you reload the configuration.
  • In case the following note is written for any property and you have changed the value of that property, you need to restart the Kernel and WebRunner to bring the change into effect. 
    To activate this property after any change, you need to Restart Server.
  • Value of the properties is not validated while editing.

You can reload the system configuration right after making the changes or you can save the changes and reload the configuration some other time.

Follow the steps below to configuration at later stage:

  1. Click Accounts > Settings.
  2. Expand the Server Node Settings in the left panel.
  3. Select the server node.
  4. Click Reload.
    A confirmation message is displayed that the configuration has been reloaded
    1. required option. For example, Common, Connector.
    2. Expand the property category to view the properties associated with it.
    3. Double-click the corresponding value field for a property.
    4. Change the value for the property, and click Update.
      You'll see a message saying 'Properties saved successfully. 
  5. To update the microservices properties,  
    1. Expand the Miroservice Settings in the left panel.
    2. Select the required option. For example, RuntimeWebRunnerEventPortal.
    3. Expand the property category to view the properties associated with it.
    4. Double-click the corresponding value field for a property.
    5. Change the value for the property, and click Update.
      You'll see a message saying 'Properties saved successfully. It may take few minutes to reflect these changes on every microservice instance'.

      The changes in property values may take a while to reflect.


Adding a custom property for a microservice

Apart from updating the microservice related properties, you can also create a custom property for a microservice.

To add a custom property:  

  1. Expand the Custom in the left panel.
  2. Click Settings.
  3. Click ADD Custom Property.
  4. In the Add Custom Property window, 
    1. In the Group field, enter a Group name.
    2. In the Name field, provide a name.
    3. Select the Encrypted checkbox if you want to encrypt the property values.
    4. In the Value field, provide a value for the property.
    5. In the Microservice field, select a microservice for which you want to create this property.
    6. In the Description field, enter a description for the property.
  5. Click Save.

    Only the users of Sys Admin type can create, edit, or delete the custom properties and their values. The other users can only view them.
