If you have read-only rights, you can still view a mapping activity. You can view the applied mapping, create new mapping rules, edit existing mapping rules, and run the simulation. However, you cannot save the mapping activity.
To view the mapping in readVisual representation of any process makes it easier for an user to comprehend the underlying concept. Mapping in Adeptia Connect is a complex process that requires you to know the nuances of each and every step that is involved in it. While you have the option to see the details of a mapping in documented form, you can also take a look at the live graphical depiction of an existing mapping in Adeptia Connect.

| You can open a mapping in a view-only mode wherein you can perform some actions but cannot save the changes – It throws an alert message as you try to save the mapping after making any changes. |
To take a look at the mapping in view-only mode:
Click Configure > Data Transformation > Mapping.
Click more menu to More menu for the mapping activity whose details you want to view and click View.
Clicking this option will open the View Data Mapping window. Scroll down and click Data Mapper. This displays the selected mapping activity in a web based interface in read-only mode.
The View Mapping Details window opens.
Click View Data Mapper.
The visual representation of the selected mapping opens in a new tab in the browser.
