You may come across a requirement for removing the mapping between the elements of a source and destination layout either in existing mapping or while you are creating a new one. In Adeptia Connect, you can remove the mapping between the elements from either the source or the destination layout. Whereas, you can remove mapping as well as use other options like For Each, Comments, Sorting Rules, and Local Variable at the destination element, you can only remove mapping from the source layout elements.

Removing mapping from destination element
- Ensure that all the source and destination layout are loaded and all their elements are listed under their respective nodes.
- Select the destination layout element and click on more option whose mapping you want to remove and select the Remove Mapping option.
The Remove Options window is displayed.
This screen displays a list of properties and variables associated with the selected element that can be removed with the mapping.Info Only the Remove Mapping is displayed as always enabled. The other options are enabled only if they have been defined for the particular element. Select the Remove Mapping check box.
Click Remove.
The mapping associated with the particular element will be removed.Info Click Select All from Remove Options window if you want to remove all the other options associated with the particular element and then click Remove.
Removing mapping from source element
The Remove Mapping option for a source element is especially helpful when that element is mapped with multiple destination elements using and you want to remove all the mappings in one go.

Follow the steps below to remove the mapping from a source element:
- Ensure that all the source and destination layout are loaded and all their elements are listed under their respective nodes.
- Select an element of the source layout whose mapping you want to remove and click More option and then select the Remove Mapping option.
A message window appears asking for your confirmation. - Click Yes to remove the mapping.
The mapping associated with the particular element will be removed.
