You can also compare the activities of the source and target environments to find their differences. The differences can be viewed in the generated XML file. It contains information of the new and modified activities. Same activities, that is, with no difference at source and destination are not included in this XML file.
Before you start comparing, ensure that you have run the Migration utility.
To compare objects:
- Type 2 to compare and press ENTER from the keyboard.
- Type the location of the zip file that you want to compare and press ENTER from the keyboard.
- Type the Adeptia Suite location (till Adeptia Server) on which the zip is to be deployed, for example, C:\Program Files\AdeptiaSuite\AdeptiaSuite-<version>\AdeptiaServer and press ENTER from the keyboard.
- Depending on the objects (Transactions, Templates, or Web Forms) in the specified zip, you need to select the object(s) that you want to compare at the target environment. Select the objects and press ENTER from the keyboard. You can separate multiple objects by a comma (,), in the range (1-10), or a combination of both (1, 2, 5-10, 12-15, 20).
- Type the file location that will be created after objects comparison in XML format and press ENTER from the keyboard.
- The utility starts comparing the objects. Once the source and target data are compared successfully, a message stating Object Comparison successfully done appears and an XML file is generated with the specified name and location. You can access the same to compare the objects at source and target.
