A Template is a connection that you can create and share with your partners for exchanging data. In a Template, you can define the Source and Destination applications and map the fields. After you have created the Template and shared with your Partners, they can use it as a predefined format for exchanging data.
Following are the steps to create a Template:
  1. Provide the definition of the Template
  2. Define the source application of the Template
  3. Define the target application of the Template
  4. Define the mapping of the Template

The first step while creating a Template is to provide the template definition. To provide the definition of a Template:

  1. Click Configure on the task pane.
  2. Go to Templates from the left menu.
  3. Click Create Templates



  4. Provide the name and description of the template and click Continue to select the network.

    The name should be a unique name and should not exceed 48 characters.


     

  5. Select the network and click Save & Next to configure. You can select more than one Network. This template will be applicable for the partners of the selected Networks only. 

    To select more than one networks, select the Network from the drop-down list multiple times. The selected Networks will get listed together.

     



  6. Provide the configuration details and click Save & Next to continue further.

    App: fetch data from application such as QuickBooks, Salesforce.

    File: fetch data from the file such as FTP Source, File Source.

    Select Direction

    Inbound: Company sends data to the Partner.

    Outbound: Company receives data from the Partner.

    Change my Data Format

    Yes (Convert): Select this option to transfer the file data from one application to another. To transfer the data, you need to define the mapping.

    No (Pass Thru): Select this option to transfer the file from one application to another.

     

  7. Provide the details and click Save & Next.

    Email id(s) listed here will receive a notification email whenever the connection is executed successfully or if there is an error during execution. Multiple email ids are separated by a comma.

    When to notify the contact?

    Always: Send an email whenever the execution of the connection is successful.

    Error: Send an email if an error occurred in the execution of the connection.

    Access to transaction templateAccess to the template either publicly or privately.
    Data EncodingCharacter-set encoding for your source data. The available options are UTF-8, UTF-16, UTF-32, and ISO-8859-1.
