While creating or using Adeptia Connect services, you may want to change the application properties to let the services perform and achieve the desired business output. If you are an admin user, Adeptia Connect gives you the authority to view the application configuration for troubleshooting purposes and also allows you to update the application properties. 

Tip
Only the users of Sys Admin type can edit the property values . The other users can only view them.

Viewing application configuration

The application configuration module allows you to configure properties that govern application and security settings. 

The application configuration module displays the Adeptia Connect related information such as mail parameters, Version Control configuration, Session Time Out, and Process Flow Recovery Settings, etc. 

Follow the steps below to view the application configuration:

  1. Click Accounts Account > Settings.
  2. Expand the Application Settings, Microservice Settings, or Custom in the left panel according to your need.
  3. Select the required option. For example, Common, Runtime, WebRunner, Event, Portal, Certificates.
  4. Expand the property category to view the properties associated with it.

Updating properties

The values for properties can be updated to make the application work as per your requirement. For example, you can change the mail server settings, and enable or disable transaction recovery, etc.

Info
You cannot delete or edit the predefined properties, but you can view them. The users of Sys Admin type can only update the property values.

Follow the steps below to update the application properties:

  1. Click Accounts Account > Settings.
  2. To update the application properties, 
    1. Expand the Application Settings in the left panel.
    2. Select the required option. For example, Common, ConnectorCertificates.
    3. Expand the property category to view the properties associated with it.
    4. Double-click the corresponding value field for a property.
    5. Change the value for the property, and click Update.
      You'll see a message saying 'Properties saved successfully. 
  3. To update the microservices properties,  
    1. Expand the Miroservice Settings in the left panel.
    2. Select the required option. For example, RuntimeWebRunnerEventPortal.
    3. Expand the property category to view the properties associated with it.
    4. Double-click the corresponding value field for a property.
    5. Change the value for the property, and click Update.
      You'll see a message

      saying 

      saying 'Properties saved successfully. It may take few minutes to reflect these changes on every microservice instance'

      The changes in property values may take a while to reflect.


Adding a custom property for a microservice

Apart from updating the microservice related properties, you can also create a custom property for a microservice.

To add a custom property:  

  1. Expand the Custom in the left panel.
  2. Click Settings.
  3. Click ADD Custom Property.
  4. In the Add Custom Property window, 
    1. In the Group field, enter a Group name.
    2. In the Name field, provide a name.
    3. Select the Encrypted checkbox if you want to encrypt the property values.
    4. In the Value field, provide a value for the property.
    5. In the Microservice field, select a microservice for which you want to create this property.
    6. In the Description field, enter a description for the property.
  5. Click Save.

    Info
    Only the users of Sys Admin type can create and , edit, or delete the Custom custom properties and their values. The other users can only view them.
