While creating EDI Schemas, some record definitions may be common across schemas. You can create and define the record definitions that are commonly used in EDI schemas in an EDI Data Dictionary. Thus, when while creating an EDI Schema, you can select the EDI Data Dictionary and display the required records. This feature is available in:

On the Adeptia Suite homepage, go to Configure > Services > Data Dictionary and then click EDI. The Manage EDI Data Dictionary screen is displayed (see Figure 186).

You can create a data dictionary by uploading a zip file. You need to contact Adeptia Support Team to receive a zip file for a specific EDI version. Adeptia provides a default data dictionary for X12 004010.

This page list the steps to create an EDI data dictionary. Following steps can be followed to create a data dictionary for all other EDI formats - HL7, EDIFACT, and X12. 

Prerequisites

Ensure that you have downloaded the zip file received from Adeptia Support Team for creating EDI Data Dictionary. 

To create an EDI Data Dictionary:

  1. Go to Develop > Services > Data Dictionary > EDI

  2. Click Create New

  3. Click Upload Zip to select and upload the zip file. All XSD's and the values contained in the zip file are uploaded automatically. All the textboxes Data in the fields of the data dictionary are populated automatically. You need not enter or change any value in these fields.

    • Currently one data dictionary is already created for X12 004010 Version.
    • To create the EDI Data Dictionary of any other version, the ZIP will be provided by Adeptia. To get the XSD's of any other version contact support@adeptia.com.
  4. Click the Save button.

Updating Existing Data Dictionary

You can update your existing EDI Data dictionary if and only if you are using Adeptia Suite version 6.3 or later. To update an existing data dictionary:

  1. Download the relevant Data Dictionary zip folder.
  2. Extract the zip folder.
  3. Open the zip folder and copy XSD files from the folder.
  4. Go to .../<AdeptiaInstallFolder/ServerKernel/web/EDISchema.
  5. Open the relevant folder for the applicable XSD files.
  6. Paste the copied XSD files in that folder.
  7. Restart Kernel and WebRunner.7
