You can use a JSON file to define the structure of your Source or Destination layout.

To create a JSON file layout:

  • Select JSON from the Source data format drop-down list.
  • Click Image Removed to create a JSON layout from the source data layout.

    JSON (JavaScript Object Notation) is a lightweight data-interchange format. The JSON layout defines the procedure to read data from and write data to a JSON file. 

    Steps to create a JSON Layout

    1. Go to Account and click Manage Objects.

    2. Click LAYOUTS > JSON.

    3. Click CREATE JSON Layout.

      On the Create Layout window, provide type the name and description of the JSON layoutnew JSON layout in the Name and Description fields respectively.

    5. Click 

      Next 

      Choose File of JSON File Path field to upload a sample JSON file.

      Click Browse to upload a sample JSON file that you want to use for defining the Source or Destination structure.

    6.  Expand Advanced Properties to view the advanced properties of JSON layout.

    7. Define the character-set encoding for your JSON layout. The available options are UTF-8, UTF-16, UTF-32, and ISO-8859-1.

    8. Select the Interpret and convert data types checkbox if you want to convert the data from one file format to another.

    9. Select the Project from the drop-down list of Project.

    10. Click Save to save the JSON layout.
