Pre Process is the processed data , Transactions you created using Pre Process application at Source. and Post Process is the further processing of data, received from the Target application. The data received from the Target application will become a source for Post Process application.
A Transaction is executed by processing files specified in the Source and Target application. You can further process target application data using Developer's Studio Process Flow (running at the background of Adeptia Connect) and Transactions created using Pre Process as a Source application. Thus, removing the need to provide account and configuration details. It will pick the account and configuration details used in the Process Flow and Transaction.
You cannot create a Template using Pre Process application at Source and Post Process application at Target. To use Pre Process application at Source, there must be a supported application at Target. To use Post Process at Target there must be a supported application at Source. For example, to send data from FTP to Email, you need to create two Templates. First Template uses Pre Process application at Source and FTP application at Target, and the second Template uses Email application at Source and Post Process application at Target. processed data that you want to further process.
