This page explains the underlying reasons behind taking the backup of the objects/services before you start applying the patch.
If you have recovered from the latest version of Adeptia Connect to its previous version, you may encounter the following two situations that hold you back from proceeding further.
- You may not be able to log in to the application as a Custom IT user.
- You may not be able to edit a template or transaction.
These two situations arise because of the two changes you may have done made in the objects/services in the latest version of the application.
- You may have allowed an existing Custom IT user from the previous version to have ownership of the migrated objects by editing the associated custom Role.
- You may have edited the parameters defined in the existing templates and transactions from the previous version.
To overcome these challenges, you need to take the backup of the objects before you start applying the latest patch. This backup will help you restore the objects/services after you recover to the previous patch.
