Server Requirements
Operating System
Adeptia Connect can be installed on the following operating systems:
Operating System | Version |
Windows | 2008 or later |
Linux
| Red Hat 6.0 or later |
CentOS 6 or later | |
Ubuntu 6 or later |
Hardware Requirements
Hardware | Minimum Requirement | Recommended Configuration* |
Processor | 2 GHz 4 Core | 2 quad-core CPU (8 cores) |
RAM | 8 GB | 16 GB |
Hard Disk | 50 GB | 500 GB |
*Actual RAM and hard disk space required for running Adeptia Connect depend on many factors:
- Number of services running on a node,
- The complexity of the services deployed on the node, and
- CPU requirement for running these services.
The expected data flow and system performance also determine the RAM and hard disk requirement. Therefore, these requirements may vary for the production environment and the user is advised to refer to the recommended configuration.
Database Requirements
The database requirements for installing Adeptia Connect are:
Name | Version |
MySQL | 5.5, 5.6, and 5.7 |
SQL Server | Up to 2017 |
Oracle | 12c Release 1 & 2, 19c Pluggable Database of Oracle is not supported. |
Database Sizing
Database Type | Recommended Configuration (approx.) | |
Database Size | Number of Tables | |
Log Database | 100 MB to 1-2GB* | 40-50 |
Backend Database | 10s of MB | 150 |
*Size of log database can vary (within in the given range in the table above) depending on the number of transactions running in Adeptia Connect and on log retention time.

* Though Adeptia Connect is compatible with Edge and Mozilla Firefox, we recommend to use Google Chrome/Safari for seamless operation. |
You can also install Adeptia Connect in a virtual environment.
Hardware Configurations
To get the better performance, it is recommended to use servers with the configuration given below:
Name | Minimum Requirement | Recommended |
---|---|---|
CPU cores | 4 | 2 quad-core CPU (8 cores) |
RAM | 8 GB | 16 GB |
OS | 64-bit | |
Hard disk | 200 GB | 500 GB |
Log Database | For higher performance, a separate database for logs such as MS SQL Server, Oracle or MySQL can be installed on a separate server. |
Depending on the size of the data and performance needed, servers with higher configuration can be used.
Software Configurations
To get better performance, it is recommended to configure your Adeptia with the parameters given below:
Optimize or Configure Adeptia Services
You can configure Adeptia databases on separate servers to distribute server load. Below are the areas you can configure in Adeptia to manage server load for better performance:
Configure your Adeptia Log database on a separate server:http://support.adeptia.com/entries/21925722-Moving-Log-Database-on-SQL-Server-MYSQL-Oracle
http://support.adeptia.com/entries/22011196-Setup-Kernel-and-Webrunner-on-distributed-systems
Optimize your Adeptia JVM to Avoid Memory Issues
Adeptia Kernel and WebRunner use different JVMs. You can configure your Kernel and WebRunner JVMs separately in Adeptia launcher.properties file. Refer to the below forum link to configure Java memory settings:http://support.adeptia
.
com/entries/21238802-Setting-Java-Heap-SizeRestart Adeptia Services if you have made any change. As a best practice, it is recommended to use below settings for JVM:
Operating System and Java JRE: 64 bit
Java heap size for Kernel: 60% of the total memory
Java heap size for WebRunner: 20 % of the total memory
For 8GB RAM - Kernel = 4.8GB;
For 16GB RAM – Kernel = 10GB; WebRunner = 3.2GB
